As I sit here and write this I can't help but wander how many people won't ever see this blog. On the flip side I can't help but think about all those who will actually stumble across my page.
To those who make it: Welcome!
I often feel like I deserve more or at least need more. But then I come across someone who has way less than me and are in dire NEED of assistance- from those across seas in third world countries to those right across the street right here in North America. I don't know about you but every time I dig deep and grab change out my pocket I have an unsettling feeling. Where is that money going? Will it go toward good? Or seriously how is 50 cents or a $1 going help someone come out of poverty? Now I know I can't free all of mankind from the hassles and brutalities of daily life but I can document them. I can take a picture, ask the focus his or her name and engage them in conversation. I can film a clothe-less child in the slums of Africa who appears to have no parents. I can speak out about issues I feel are unjust AND so can you!
Art to me is mostly a re-creation of physical life anyway only placed on canvas or any other medium. Why not bring civic awareness and progress at the same time?
I don't see a problem with it.
Life is an art form, express your roots!
