My trip has been muy adventurous... must say. Here's a glimpse:
This train ride to Oklahoma has been very interesting. I’m in Texas now, which is good. I get to Norman tonight at about 9pm, hopefully sooner but it’s now 9 am so a full day is ahead. Once I land in Texas I’ll have to ship my bike to Tulsa. I had the super brilliant plan to only send the bike, retrieve my other bags and try to condense them to the point where I won’t have to send another bag. Most of the stuff in my carryon bag has been eaten or can just be smushed into my big suitcase. I put my jacket in the bag with the paint so I hope to God none of it came out on my jacket. Ahhh the thought of it makes me cringe, I love that jacket. I thought I was going to carry it on so I packed it on the top. I packed my paints really well though so I’m not worrying too much.
I met a conductor the first night who owns his own company and is looking to launch it soon. He is into nutrition so the company is called optimum body and he has products as well. Seemed like a cool connect, at this point I feel like all minorities need to help lift each other out of this dominance of economic control by those who are privileged. Let’s allow our people to be privileged in some respects-by helping each other. Shortly after that I got to talking to some Latinos/Puerto Ricans from California and Chicago. It was nice talking to them about how they started. One guy saved up his money, bout 5 thousand and started a construction company now he makes about 5 thousand a week and pays out about 4 thousand on child support for his kids. We got to talking and he may want me to draw his little girl, he was real hype about it. We even saw each other again when we were getting off the train in Chicago. They had tons of wine, red bull and beer that they were consuming. They offered me some and so I had a glass. The first night was definitely a good night, won’t forget it. This guy by the name of Fernando was so occupied with liking me that he couldn’t really focus on the productive conversation. There was a gay Puerto Rican from Chicago so for some odd reason they were getting pretty touchy feely just laying on top of each other while listening to music. We listened and talked until about 3 am then I got some zzz’s on the upper cart. We were in a small knuck on the lower cart...
