Ashley Logan comes strong in this poem; questioning the methods in which some take advantage of Opportunity!
Opportune
Said he wanted to start clean like having his credit score wiped out and starting again...
But we all make mistakes and if we rewind and cleaned the slates, we would not have gained the stain of discipline...
We wouldn’t work so diligent to right our wrongs...
And our wrongs would be accepted, responsibilities neglected, because we would know that our weakness was not a flaw because the ability to wipe it all clean without effort... would make us appear strong...
Never corrected...
Crippling us..
Restricting us...Permitting us to be pathetic and ridiculous...
Individuals...
Thoughtless, faultless...left with no residuals...
Accept the place you are without no complacency for the situation...
No one said you had to be satisfied with your current state...but effortless recommendations brings ruin and and confusion...
Birthing a life of deformation...
If you chose not to fight for change...
Then change remains frozen, never growing...because change without motion is simply staying the same...
A difference can’t occur without your permission...
And if you find yourself unsatisfied with life’s conditions...
By all means change it...
Don’t like the furniture of circumstance...by all means re-arrange it...
Just don’t complain as if complaining has the ability to change it...because it doesn’t...
Wishful thinking brings temporary relief but its the will and action that maintains it and brings it forth to the becoming...
Thoughts are birth and the head to a plan
But without legs and feet...there’s no way either can stand...
So given age, we are responsible for where we stand in life with no fingers pointed or blame to pursue...
We can’t live life as if opportunity is to cater to us, but we are to come to opportunity in preparation asking “Opportunity, how can I serve you”?
